My good friend of 48 years, Brian Way was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colorectal (Colon) Cancer and had successful surgery on March 28, 2014.
He faces a long road to recovery and he is fully prepared to travel it. Many are not as fortunate. We all have lost family or friends to this horrible disease. It has taken both my Mother and Father. It has taken my Uncle, Grandmother, other family members and like you, some friends. Some have survived because the cancer was caught early enough. Medically speaking, the cure is getting closer, but we may still lose someone close to us before the cure gets here.
Which brings me to the F-CANCER BIKE RIDE. Last Saturday, I was driving through Santiago Canyon and saw bike riders riding in the ‘Reaching For The Cure’ ride supporting Southern Orange County Pediatrics. A light bulb went off and I decided I needed to do a ride to help bring cancer awareness.
So, this Wednesday 4/2/2014, starting at 7am at the corner of Jamboree Rd. and Chapman Ave. in Orange, in support of Brian and the others warriors who fight cancer, I say “F-CANCER” and will be riding 100 miles. I know, short notice…
I’d love to have you join me, here is the drill: The ride is self supporting, meaning you are on your own as far as how fast or slow you go. There will not be any support stations or SAG stops. Bring your own water/fluids, food and repair supplies. Come prepared, the course has some hills.

Left on Rancho Santa Margarita Pkwy.
Right on Melinda
Left on Olympiad
Right on Oso Pkwy.
Right on Marguerite Pkwy.
Left on Rancho Santa Margarita Pkwy.
Left on Alton Pkwy.
Right on Barranca
Right on Jeffrey Rd.
Left on Portola Pkwy.
Right on Jamboree Rd.
Take Jamboree Rd. to Santiago Canyon Rd. and you have completed one lap or 48.7 miles.
If you do one lap, you’re helping bring awareness.
